Open Question: Why won’t the water level in my pool rise?
The water level of the pool I maintain won’t rise past a certain point. It is just low enough that the upper ledge of the pool where the skimmers are, are out of the water. That level also isn’t really dropping much past its current level.
I believe the problem is probably at the filter tank. The water in the tank is about half way below where it should be. There is no crack in the tank, because when the pumps are shut off, the water level can rise to the correct point and does not drop. This made me realize that only one of the two pool pumps will cause the water in the filter tank to lower. With one pump on the water level stays constant, as soon as the other is turned on the water level immediately drops to a certain point and does not go lower than that.
Any attempt to add fresh water to the tank is pointless as it can run for hours and neither the tank level nor the pool level will rise. The only thing I could think of is that there is a leak somewhere in the line of the problem pump, except this does not explain why the water level of the tank will not drop past a certain point.
I don’t have much pool maintenance experience, so this is a real head scatcher for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
